Andrea Page's Original FITMOM+Baby class is the most popular indoor workout.  Whether in a baby carrier or lying next to you, your baby will participate in the class and provide progressive resistance to help you get lean and strong. Babies from 4 weeks to 6 1/2 months are safest in a front carrier, while older babies are best suited to a back carrier. Consult with your doctor to see what's best for you.

All FITMOM+Baby classes include exercises to target all the major muscle groups. Each class includes:

  • a warm up
  • 20 minutes of standing exercises (with baby in carrier),
  • 20 minutes of interactive floor work,
  • an aerobic circuit and
  • a warm down and stretch
  • Each class concludes with a baby activity that changes weekly

In the course of the session participants will be able to address concerns about postnatal fitness and will receive handouts on relative topics for their interest.

FITMOM classes are a great way to meet other new moms, get in shape, feel more energized and most importantly have fun while bonding with your baby.

* All participants should have had their 6week postnatal check up before starting FITMOM+BABY classes*

Thursdays 7:30-8:30pm (Oshawa Seniors Citizen Centre)

CORE RESTORE (Group Workshop, Private)

FITMOM is one of the very first companies in North America to bring attention to the issue of abdominal separation amongst pre and postnatal women. "Diastasis recti", while a common condition, is also one that current research recommends addressing as soon as possible.

  1. Assess your separation
  2. Make recommendations on how to address your current level of separation
  3. Provide you with a guide to help inform you on the condition, document your recommendations and stay on top of the recommended exercise
  4. Teach you the fundamental DO's and DONT's (contraindications) for abdominal separation

Thursdays 7:30-8:30pm Oshawa (Oshawa Seniors Citizen Centre)

Are you expecting a baby? Did you know that current research supports exercise during pregnancy? It?s well documented that women who exercise during pregnancy experience fewer instances of normal pregnancy discomforts, reduce their risk of cesarean section and have healthy resilient babies.

At FITMOM 2B fitness classes we'll focus on improving your muscular balance, cardiovascular endurance and core stability so that you?ll feel more energetic and strong throughout your pregnancy. Active and healthy pregnant women go into labour with an advantage that helps them endure the physical demands of the delivery.

Exercising during pregnancy also benefits moms by:

1.Boosting energy levels: Most women experience fatigue at various times during their pregnancy. Engaging in physical activity 3-5 times per week will actually give you more energy to perform daily tasks and will help you sleep better at night!

2.Reducing common pregnancy discomforts: Strengthening your core muscles will greatly reduce common discomforts, such as back pain, which is experienced by many women during pregnancy.

3.Toning your body: Just because you're pregnant doesn?t mean you can?t have an improved body shape. By increasing lean muscle tissue, you are preparing for your body to get back to your pre-pregnancy shape more easily. Pregnant women who exercise often have an overall feeling of wellness, confidence and self esteem.

4.Reducing your risk of having a Cesarean Section: Studies show that when women are physically active they greatly reduce their chances of having a C-Section.

5.Having an easier labour! Regular exercise helps facilitate the labour process. Women who are physically fit have better strength and stamina to endure the physical demands of labour.

FITMOM recommends that anyone who is pregnant check with their doctor before engaging in any type of exercise program.

FITMOM advocates exercise during pregnancy. We recognize that there are contraindications to exercise in pregnancy that are outlined by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (A.C.O.G).
